MY PHILOSOPHY
What guides
my practice.
As an Early Childhood Techer, I believe that every child is unique with their own strength and needs. My role as a teacher is to provide a strong connection between home and centre environments through developing a strong connection with families. Above all my responsibility is to create a safe, secure and naturing environment for all children through developing secure attachments based on current best practice such as Circle of Security and Bronfenbrenner theory that children development is influenced by their interconnected world. Play is the driving focus through which children learn and develop. Therefore, as an Educator, I value and implement Piaget ideas of children as active learners as well as combining Vygotsky theory, that children can extend their learning with support from knowledgeable adults (educators) as well as implementing Reggio Emilia approach that children are capable, curious and full of potential, while using the environment as the third teacher.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT LAKEVIEW
A place to belong.
Lakeview Preschool is like a home away from home. All staff, children and families are treated like family building safe, secure and supportive relationships build on shared understanding of collaboration and a drive to provide all children with the best start to life. I love the strong team culture that is fostered at Lakeview, enhancing all aspects of the centre life for both staff and children. As an educator, I value that management encourages and supports professional development and critical reflection as a driving force for providing the best learning environment for the children who attend Lakeview preschool.
